IAL announces a landmark study of students grades 4 - 8, who obtained three to four grade levels of academic achievement gain in a single school year, on the nationally standardized test, The Iowa Test of Basic Skills. These gains were 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 years beyond what the teachers normally achieved. Academic achievement was improved in reading, math, language arts, social studies, spelling and science applying Accelerated Learning methodology. The robust gains maintained two years longitudinally. Low achieving students also performed at + 1 to 2 1/2 years above grade level norm expectations even into the subsequent two years following the study. A classroom of average students surpassed gifted-high achieving students' ITBS achievement test scores two years later. The gifted students had received incomplete BTA-Accelerated Learning application.
